Heading Home

Catching the chopper from Casey to the mother ship. The ship managed to get in a lot closer than originally exspected so the flight was only about 5 minutes. It was a amazing sight flying over the sea ice.
Approaching the ship in the chopper.

On the ship how good is that view pictures don't do it justice. I have to pinch myself sometimes to belief how fortunate i have been to have experienced all this.

From the rear of the ship overlooking the heli-deck.

 Standing above the bridge.

Little old me just wondering on the inside.

On top of the bridge punching through the southern ocean. Out of the sea ice after about 2 days went through some rough weather with seas 6 meters and the wind up to 70 knots. Lots of sea sick people i had a ball and ate like a king was hoping it would get rougher. It was amazing dogging the icebergs during the night they where detected by radar and spotted bye big spot lights. I can see why the titanic sunk.

One of the two engines this one 18 cylinders with the other only 12.

The propeller shaft makes my little boat look very little. The propeller is 5 meters in diameter.

The bridge spent many hours up here with skip just watching the ocean specially when it was to rough to get out side.
